Meet your EPNA board
Mulchfest is Saturday, January 4!
Bring your holiday tree to the EPNA's Mulchfest and help keep our community green.
Your tree has one more gift to give - it will be turned into mulch. Milwaukee uses the mulch for the many beautiful boulevards and parks throughout the city.
It’s just one more way that Enderis Park residents can give back!!! Weather permitting, the City of Milwaukee truck will be on hand on the morning of the 4th to mulch our trees.
If Saturday isn't convenient, bring your tree any time between New Year’s Day and 11:45 a.m. January 4. Place your tree on the northeast side of the Enderis Park parking lot /driveway. Please DO NOT block the park entrance, driveway and snow plowing efforts.
Sorry this event cannot handle large quantity tree disposals from area businesses. Each person/family delivering a tree will receive a small goody bag as a thank you. No trees can be left in the park after 11:45 on the 4th,
And of course, we're grateful to the City of Milwaukee Forestry Department for their hard work and support.
**If snowy conditions on January 4th require the city trucks to be out clearing the streets, we'll have to cancel the event. Notification will be sent asap to give you more information if changes due to weather conditions.***

Community Groups

Enderis Park has a diverse range of neighbor-run community groups, all aimed at building connections and fostering a strong sense of belonging within the neighborhood.
These groups provide a great way to meet new people, share common interests, and contribute to the vibrant spirit of the community.
Whether you're interested in joining the Book Club for engaging discussions, the Beer and Wine Club for socializing over drinks, or the Gardening Club for cultivating both plants and friendships, there's something for everyone. Board Game Nights bring people together for fun and friendly competition, while the Mom/Dad groups offer support and camaraderie for parents.
The list of groups continues to grow, with more activities and events being organized by passionate neighbors. While these are not EPNA-sponsored activities but are coordinated by interested neighbors. There will be sign-up opportunities at EPNA events, but the groups are organized by interested neighbors.
These community-driven efforts help create a welcoming, inclusive environment where residents can connect, learn and grow together.

Glazed Streusel-Top Pumpkin Loaf
Recipe by Danielle King adapted from The Domestic Rebel
Here’s a recipe for pumpkin loaf that uses cardamom - a terrific, slightly floral, slightly citrusy, warming spice. I love this recipe for the full, rich flavor that comes from the butter, spices and streusel. While you can call this “pumpkin bread,” let’s not kid ourselves. It’s more of a fully adorned pumpkin pound cake. It would be excellent at a holiday brunch, with afternoon tea, or divided into mini loaves for you to give as gifts (start checking the doneness of the minis at the 35-min. mark). The loaf will last well for a few days on the counter. If you don’t have or want to buy multiple spices, feel free to substitute in an equal amount of pumpkin pie spice. The flavor profile will shift, but it’s personal preference and no need to stress about spice!
Ingredients
FOR THE PUMPKIN LOAF:
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened and sliced into about 8 pieces
1 cup dark brown sugar, lightly packed
1 cup pumpkin puree (use the rest of the can in pancakes or oatmeal!)
2 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 ¼ tsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp ground cardamom
½ tsp ground ginger
¼ tsp fresh nutmeg (or ground)
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp fine sea salt (or table)
1½ cups AP flour
FOR THE STREUSEL:
6 Tbsp salted butter, melted (or use unsalted and give a pincer pinch of salt)
¾ cup AP flour
½ cup brown sugar (light or dark)
½ tsp ground cinnamon
¼ tsp cardamom
¼ cup raw pumpkin seeds (optional)
FOR THE MAPLE GLAZE:
Approx 1 cup powdered sugar
¼ tsp vanilla extract
1 Tbsp maple syrup
Approx 1 Tbsp milk
Delicate pinch of sea salt
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350℉. Liberally grease a 9" metal loaf pan with cooking spray, or line with parchment paper and grease. Set aside.
For the bread: In the bowl of a stand mixer, combine the softened butter slices with the brown sugar, creaming on medium speed until smooth and very well incorporated, about 2 minutes. Add in the pumpkin and mix for 1 minute, followed by the eggs and vanilla, mixing well.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the spices, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and flour. Add half of the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix on low speed until just barely combined (30 seconds oughta do it). Repeat with the second half. Do not over-mix! The components should be just barely combined with no white streaks remaining. It may behoove you to fold the second addition by hand with sturdy rubber spatula.
Spread the loaf batter into the prepared pan in an even layer with a small spatula. It will be thick. Set aside.
Next, make your streusel: in a medium bowl, combine the melted butter, flour, brown sugar and spices. Once the butter has fully saturated the dry ingredients, drop handfuls of the streusel evenly over the top of the bread, and gently press down to help adhere to the batter.
Bake for 55-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center of the bread comes out clean. No wet crumbs! Cool completely on a wire rack.
Prepare your glaze: in a medium bowl, whisk together the glaze ingredients (easy on the milk) until a sturdy glaze of drizzling consistency comes together. Drizzle the glaze with flare over the bread. Let set before cutting into slices to serve.
