THANK YOU 2024 EPNA VOLUNTEERS!

The Enderis Park neighborhood is widely known as a wonderful place in which to live. This is, in large part, due to the friendships, active neighborhood association and strong sense of community and commitment that exists among the neighbors and businesses within our community. The mission of the Enderis Park Neighborhood Association (EPNA) is to promote neighborhood stability and a rewarding quality of life for all by working with neighbors to support and maintain an attractive, diverse, respectful and safe community.

All EPNA activities and neighborhood improvement projects are planned and organized solely by VOLUNTEERS. Volunteers are the heart and soul of the neighborhood and we want to express our MOST SINCERE THANKS for their enthusiastic and selfless commitment of time, resources and talents to these wonderful activities.

On April 17th EPNA sponsored a volunteer recognition event at Maggios Woodfire Pizza. Volunteers were treated to a pizza and beverages and and evening of friendship and grateful appreciation.

A HEARTFELT THANK YOU is extended to OUR AMAZING VOLUNTEERS, listed below, who contributed to the success of our 2024 EPNA events.

Rummage Sale Cancelled This Year

We have decided not to sponsor a neighborhood rummage sale this year due to several years of lack of participation ( less than 20 households) and poor sales based on neighbors feedback. There is also a lot of neighborhood competition at the same time we hold our sale.

Please feel free to hold an individual sale or a multi-family sale for your block.

We are considering having a Flea Market type of sale in the future.

If you have any suggestions about a future rummage sale/event, please contact Lori Sommervold at jodis754@aol.com

Board Profiles: Celeste and Cathy

We've been featuring two board members so you can get a better feel for our neighborhood leaders.

Celeste Hallisey

ree

I decided to serve on the EPNA board because I truly care about the vibrancy and well-being of our neighborhood. Being part of this community has given me so much—a sense of belonging, wonderful neighbors, and a shared pride in where we live. Serving on the board felt like a natural way to give back and to help shape the kind of neighborhood we all want to be part of. I wanted to be a voice for inclusive growth, to support local initiatives, and to help foster stronger connections between residents. One of my favorite accomplishments has been the introduction of the community groups and the addition of Square in order to accept credit card payments. It was a true team effort, and seeing the positive impact it had has been such a rewarding experience.Looking ahead, I’d love to see our neighborhood continue to thrive as a place that feels welcoming, safe, and vibrant for everyone. Whether it's a community garden, permanent concert stage, support for local businesses, or inclusive events that reflect the diverse voices of our community, I hope we keep building on the momentum we’ve created. There's so much heart here, and I’m excited to see what we can accomplish together.

Cathy Jakicic

ree

I was approached to serve on the board by former board member Anne Curley, who asked me to step into her communications role. I jumped at the chance. I've lived in Enderis Park for quite a while, but always seemed to be elsewhere. Now that I work at home (Freelance editor/writer), I wanted to be part of what had been going on around me!

There are so many people on the board who are dedicating their time to such wonderful activities and events - and I wanted to help them get the word out!  I've also been volunteering at these activities/ events to get to know them firsthand. (I highly recommend volunteering! It's a great way to meet people.)

This August I'll be leading "my own" event - EPNA's first movie night. I can't wait. Just us on August 19 for "The Goonies."

Call for nominations to the EPNA Board

According to the EPNA bylaws Article V1 Section 6:2, nominations for board membership are made either at the June meeting of the association (June 5 this year, starting at 6 p.m. at the fieldhouse) or in a written submission received by the association secretary (Lori Sommervold at jodis754@aol.com) prior to the meeting. Election of board members takes place in July.
