Community Groups

Want to organize a neighborhood get-together? Here are some tips.
Enderis Park neighbors have started to find new ways to get together, get to know each other and have fun.
While the Enderis Park Neighborhood Association doesn’t start or lead these groups. We’re happy to help with advice and getting the word out at events, etc.
If you’re thinking of starting up a group – for running, board games, play dates, book club, whatever - it’s usually nice to find a buddy to help with the organizing, but a group can definitely be launched by one person. If you build it – they will come, as the saying goes.
Here are some tips for starting a “get-together group.”
Communicate Frequently: Use a mix of methods—emails, social media, flyers—to keep everyone informed and engaged.
Hold Regular Meetups: Schedule consistent meetups to stay organized and participation in order to foster community
Delegate Tasks: Share responsibilities to prevent burnout and encourage participation from a variety of neighbors
Encourage New Members: Actively recruit new neighbors to keep the group fresh and diverse.
These community-driven efforts help create a welcoming, inclusive environment where residents can connect, learn and grow together.

EPNA 2024 FINANCIAL REPORT
2024 was a great year for the Enderis Park Neighborhood Association, Inc. (EPNA).
EPNA experienced a strong financial year, with total receipts exceeding expenses by more than$16,000. This surplus was primarily the result of lower-than-budgeted capital spending and the cancelled fourth concert on the green.
*Concerts on the Green produced a net +$7,896 due to $14,950 in sponsorships, while concert expenses were lower due to a rained-out 4th concert.
* The Farmers’ Market produced a net +$2,731, made possible by $4,931 in vendor fees.
* Neighborhood improvements’ net expenses totaled $3,379, mainly for landscape maintenance in public spaces within the neighborhood.
* Events generated a net +$904 with the help of reimbursement grants from the City of Milwaukee. Spending by MPS to maintain the Enderis Park space and create the bocce ball and cornhole courts are not included in Enderis Park expenses.
As of December 31, 2024, the EPNA Fund Balance totals $56,838.48 compared to a January 1, 2024 balance of $40,838.13, for an increase of $16,000.35.
Of the $56,838.48, $24,798.17 is invested in eight-week US Treasury Bills, and the remaining $32,040.31 remains in a business checking account. $10,000 of the fund balance is reserved for stage-related expenses

Bloom and Groom - May 17
“One of EPNA’s favorite traditions will return again this year. Our annual spring plant sale will be held on Saturday, May 17, beginning at 9 a.m. The sale, located next to the Enderis Park field house, will include a wide variety of annual flowering plants along with tomatoes and peppers. Minors Garden Center (7777 N. 76th St.) is once again providing the plants.
Because of the generous support of the City of Milwaukee’s Neighborhood Improvement Development Corporation, the plants can be offered at below-market prices. We look forward to greeting our neighbors at the sale and to then witness neighborhood yards come alive with spring colors. Come early - the plants go fast!
Dumpster Day- June 21
The City of Milwaukee Sanitation Services will provide a dumpster for our neighborhood cleanup efforts on June 21 from 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. Use of the dumpster is limited to disposal of unwanted items by Enderis Park residents as part of the EPNA cleanup effort. It will be located at 71st and Locust.
The following items CANNOT be placed in the containers:
Tires
Construction debris (lumber, concrete, dirt)
Building Materials (roofing, drywall, tiles, paint, etc.)
Hazardous Waste (paint thinner, pesticides, used motor oil, etc.)
Large appliances (refrigerators, stoves, washers, etc.)
Yard waste (tree branches, brush, leaves, grass, and garden debris)
Recyclables
Electronics (TV's, stereos, computers, printers, DVD players, etc.).
The bins will be monitored and illegal dumping with be reported to the Milwaukee Police Department.
Hazardous Waste must be dropped off at one of the Milwaukee Department of Public Works drop-off centers. Find the locations online at https://city.milwaukee.gov/sanitation/DropOff.
NOTE: Many Milwaukee shelters and organizations accept new and gently used donations of clothing, shoes, home goods, furnishings, building materials and other items. Some organizations also offer pick up services.
2025 Farmers Market Schedule
The Enderis Park Farmers Market will be back in 2025, for 14 markets starting on June 15 and continuing through September 14. We will have some of our long-time favorite vendors, as well as new vendors and expanded selections in several categories. Also returning - fun activities for families, kids, adults, and pets - and local musicians and craft artisans.
Enderis Park Gives Back – and Gives Thanks!
The 2024 Enderis Park Gives Back campaign ended up raising about $4,200 dollars for Hunger Task Force. It was short of our ambition $5,000 goal but the Task Force was very happy.
For 2025, EPNA plans to expand the campaign. We will create a point of purchase donation display to be on a table at every Farmers’ Market and run this summer campaign from June- September. (It will stop at the last market.) We will then pick up with Enderis Park Gives Thanks on the Nov.1st and run through December. Hunger Task Force specifically is local and free. There are no fees for those in need.
